I actually loved this episode, it reminds me of series 3 episode 20, the original fire episode which has always been one of my favoites, though I will say they did Danny dirty here, and Val too in this entire series. They hardly had them together then just threw that they lived together all back in at the end in like two scenes. Defintly one to add to list of unecessary deaths though, They basically made it so everytjing that they both went through and suffered through when the whole world was against them meaniglless, I mean the poor kid died not knowing if people actually did forgive him, not knowing who actually loved him or was pretending, never able to actually rejoin society or try be normal again, it is so cruel that they di that to him, by this point they should have just made it so it happened in series 11, because all the extra time Danny tried to get back to normal ended up being for nothing. As for Val, the writers must hate her, first they make her see him arrested, then slowly mentally break down in the aftermath, then lose him forever, like all the poor woman did was love and support him what did she did to deserve them hurting her constantly. These two are my favorites so seeing them suffer so much is really hard for me to watch. I can't say I am suprised though, I swear these student/teacher storylines are actually jinxed by this point.
Next term looks great but how Kim is still in charge baffles me, she let Myles back in, and left two kids in a fire, like Rachel Mason walked into the fire to check for students and almost died but Kim just left them and with all her other mistakes I am baffled how they are still trusting her with the kids.
I did like Myle's character though, Earl Kelly vibes. Feel we needed one like that, some of the 'bad boys' are just more annoying and do stupid stuff that just annoys everyone but isnt dangerous, I like they had a proper one this time.
I am always going to be so upset they did my favorites so dirty, but I will say the Preston stuff was good, and I liked the other characters got screentime but personally still isnt up to par with series 11 to me, everything and everyone felt odd and out of place, everyone felt out of character, half the stuff made no sense to me and baffled me and we never got half of the stuff we should of got answers to resolved, plus the couple scenes were way to over the top. Hopefully next term I like it better. That is just my thoughts though, great review!
