Out of all the actors who played Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson Basil Rathbone, and Nigel Bruce to me personally were the best 👌.

This is a wonderful collection of the old Adventures of Sherlock Holmes radio shows along with the Petri Wine ads.  I love the fact that they're all together in one long video with the black screen for listening at night.  Thank you SO MUCH for making these old treasures available so we can still listen to them.

I've been a fan of Rathbone and Bruce since I was 6. My grandparents got me Hound of the Baskervilles and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes on VHS. When I was a bit older, they got me the radio shows on cassette. Now, almost 40, I have 85 of their radio shows on my cell and computer and all 14 movies on DVD. I even got my wife into them and she had never seen black and whites growing up.

Escape is ASSURED with radio. I follow the story. I create mental images of the action and locales. Bruce and Rathbone for ME are irreplaceable. I'm staying in the 1940s. I'm happily TRAPPED!

Weather it Petri wine, clippercraft clothes, or groves bromo quinine, the stories were fresh and fun!

My grandfather for sleep would say. Think of everything black in the room around you. The ceiling the walls, everything. Maybe that mindful trick was useful during the wars. I can’t say but as a kid it eventually shut me up thinking it. I still need to listen to something to slow the brain down. Radio always did me well. This seems lovely.

I love this program! I particularly love this one because of the black screen!! I listen to these to fall asleep and the black screen means no one is distracted or kept awake by the light. Thank you so much for posting this version

Basil Rathbone what an actor he is .. One of the few great actors who is brilliant at playing either a hero or villian, fantastic.

What normal person doesn’t want to be in the early 20th century hearing a story about the 19th while really being and hearing this in the 21st century.

Tom Conway was also an excellent Sherlock Holmes! He worked with Nigel Bruce after Basil Rathbone left the series. There's also a modern series starring John Patrick Lowrey from Jim French Productions that is absolutely amazing and captures the feel of the original stories!

My favorite movies are the ones that star Rathbone & Bruce!! I think I watched one just before them from 1935 that I also liked but, can't remember who played Holmes & Watson.

Better than the most powerful sleep aids available and zero funky feeling in the morning.

If you haven’t seen Basil in the old movie “If I were King”, then you need to see it! Awesome acting.
