One is green and one is blue. The blue is worth the upgrade.

Best thing you can do from this store is buy a flexhead icon with the regular soft grip. Then buy a Pittsburgh half inch breaker bar, punch the roll pin and swap your head onto the breaker bar.
I had to rough mine up with a file a little but other than that it was pretty much plug and play.

HF uses many of the exact same factories as the other more expensive tool companies which is why they often have the exact same tools just branded differently. They’re great

From what I have seen on project farm and torque test channel Pittsburgh is usually around 70-80% ANSI standards in terms of strength and Quinn is more on par with the low-cost hardware shop tools at or above 100%. Prosumer lines are more like 125% and tool truck over 150%.

The Quinn low profile half inch drive impact sockets and extractors are a must buy

Those pittsburgh ratchets are dual pawl with a very light spring that gives them very low back drag. They are not that strong but a 1/4 pittsburgh is insanely low back drag. They show the back drag of the 3/8 on client graphics channel it was lower than snap on.

“Come all without, come all within
You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn” I hear that song every time I reach for my Quinn socket set 😂

The warranty exchange won me over hands down. I broke a long head 3/8th ratchet and my snap on guy was tight and not wanting to honor the warranty. It took months of dogging this snap on guy for the warranty until I gave up and went through the website. HF is quick and easy. Walk in and walk out in less than 5 minutes. If HF can get USA made stuff tools in their stores like rebranded lisle it will kill snap on

When i worked at a machine shop i was training a guy on a machine, i had a brand new Pittsburgh half inch drive, he forgot it on the fixture, the ratchet got stuck in the augur and thermal tripped the machine. The ratchet survived, chewed up and skips some teeth but it still works today.

I have 1/4" SAE Pittsburgh and Metric Quinn.
It wasn't a choice, but an accident.
The finish on the Quinn better, both will serve you well.

Besides quality, Tooth count is the difference and ratchet profile. Pittsburg is 72 count normal ratchet while Quinn is a 90tooth low-profile ratchet.

I've gotten Pittsburgh stuff on sale when the Quinn comparable costs over 60%. Absent a sale, the Quinn option is just perfect for my needs (I barely look at ICON).

Every single time I try to warranty anything at Hobo Freight they give me a hard time even with the box and receipt.

Phasing out all Pittsburgh so those people no longer have a warranty.

Welp I beat bro to it. No reason for the big boxes crap, this stuff works, works well, AND has THE best warranty out there. Get to know your cashiers/management there and you’re set for LIFE. Makes an easy process even easier that way
