New Airtable Updates - Sept 2020

Airtable has shipped some very exciting new updates for September, 2020! Check out this walkthrough as we review their new announcement and dive into the future for the software. Specifically, Airtable has focused on three new features:

1. Blocks are now Apps and there's now a marketplace for developers to share their creations
2. Airtable Automations are officially announced, including new trigger and action steps
3. Airtable Sync now allows you to link across Airtable bases

The new potential that these upgrades unlock for us is dramatic and can't be overstated. Stay tuned for more tutorials as I explore these new features in detail and share them with our community. Being able to finally have a separate base for different aspects is nice. Sometimes I have tables littering my base I no longer need for old projects but don’t want to delete but can’t archive because they link to other tables within the base. Now I can easily create a new base for long projects and let it close out without issue finally.

I just got more excited than should be considered reasonable at seeing we can now sync bases and went and rambled to my GF for 10 minutes about "this new feature in Airtable I've needed for ages", she just eye-rolled and said "I'm happy for you" lmao.
I had to come check this latest video to confirm it is what I thought it was.
Now I can have my separate "directory" base for all my contacts, companies, branches, locations, suppliers and link all of my other bases to that instead of copying them in to each one, using up thousands of rows in each.

Whoop Whoop! I'm super excited about this. After going back and forth, I finally decided to transfer everything over to AirTable and boy am I glad that I did! I'm almost done, and I've automated so many things, I've completely replaced my budgeting software, YNAB. I'm about to create an app for scheduling too, think I might be able to replace calendly. And I cannot wait to start setting up the admin stuff for my freelancing. Gonna be able to create custom proposals on the fly with this. Gonna save so much moneyyy! :) lol

Thank you boss for the video! Can not believe the feature released! Originally I thought there might be a bit conflict financially for Airtable if they open the cross-base table connection. But they DID! So glad to hear that and thanks again for the video to tell us immediately!!😆

I don't know why people getting so excited about this update. Because "Link to Another Base" is way more effective than sync / copy from another base. And the other, just for PRO user plan.

Airtable is on of the best productivity apps out there. But in my opinion there are pro plan options that should be available even in others price plans. For example for coloring option 20$ /months are quite expensive. It's just an opinion

Hi Gareth. I would appreciate if you can help with the automation using Gmail as an action. At the "ACTION " part (after setting and testing the triger successfully ) the "Testing step" is keeping testing in a loop and doesn't seem to end ?

Hi Gareth, I have a question i need some help with.
I’d like to automatically consolidate certain information from 3 different bases by the status of the customer such as “New”, “Member” and “Retail” into a main base that automatically pulls the status, name, phone number and email of the customer. So later I group them into their respective statuses. Is that possible?
