Now “Ugly Sonic,” the original design, is back. The character, voiced by I Think You Should Leave star Tim Robinson, has a surprisingly substantial role in the Disney Plus movie Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers, a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-style live-action movie teeming with recognizable animated characters who live alongside humans, and co-star with them in movies and television. First introduced at a fandom convention, signing autographs and coasting on his internet notoriety, Ugly Sonic (he bills himself that way, complete with a giant “Ugly Sonic” banner for his booth) comes across as a little smug and a little bitter about his brief, curtailed movie career. The role only gets bigger from there. In this video we go over each scene and I give my thoughts.

The joke about Ugly Sonic just works so well, especially with the success of Sonic 2, you can't help but laugh at this more as you could very well imagine that Ugly Sonic could very well be more bitter that his replacement Actor is doing very well.

1:28 They did get the rights since other Paramount/ Viacom characters do appear in the movie. The same animation studio MCP that worked on the Sonic movies worked on this as well. So it just really worked out well

This parody implies that the sonic movie actually exists in this world as well. He referenced the backlash from the first trailer and that there's a real sonic that actually runs fast too, unlike himself.

This is just hilarious. I was almost dying of laughter cause of how true everything he said was. I like how they didn’t use Ben Schwartz to make him seem like a whole different character.

The amount of roasting this film did amongst nearly every character and styles of animation was just awesome.
