Agreed; the Gaelic lyrics were able to capture the "already/not yet" tension... That God's assurance of "I will" was as good as saying "I have." The original lyrics were able to capture both of those ideas in our own response. It's mind-blowingly lovely.

A bit of background: this is based on 'Be Thou My Vision', an Irish hymn (that massively predates the KJV, by the way). The original is a mainstay of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the UK & Ireland, I've heard it done at this pace, with hundreds of youngsters belting it out. Great to see it getting some extra exposure. Peace, folks!

I love this hymn, and their rendition is sweet. I miss worship & praise. Going to gnarly fundy churches in central Texas (didn't know they were) has made me run not walk from going to church. No more church until I can find more reasonable less rabid and less hateful peeps. Still searching.

I see a lot of comments about not changing the words to the hymn like not changing Shakespeare. Firstly I am a KJV Bible believer and the only thing that shouldn't be changed is the word of God. After that everything is the word of man, just as this song is. If you want to sing it as a prayer then sing the original. If you want to sing it as a testimony then sing this version. Both honor God.
