Florida homeowners scramble as another major insurer exits

One of Florida’s largest home insurers is exiting the market, leaving thousands of homeowners scrambling to find new coverage as options continue to dwindle in the Sunshine State.

I don't understand, When a claim is made the insurance company sends someone out to see the damages. Then the claim is denied or the insurance Co doesn't give enough leading the claim to litigation which equals too paying high attorney fees etc. For years the insurance Co have put themselves in this mess .

Why can't insurance companies pay the correct amount and kick the lawyers to the curb. Lawyers should not be needed. Lawyers making so much money out of this, yet no other state has this issue.

Blame all the fraudsters here in Florida scamming the insurance companies with a barrage of frivolous claims. I'd want to leave too. I know two neighbors of mine that lied, cheated, and scammed their homeowners insurance company in 2017.

Roof companies send people around suggesting to people to replace their expensive roof and that their insurance pays for it. They then charge insurance double and triple the cost.

Yet another benefit of the litigation nation. Auto insurance would have failed for the same reason, decades ago if cars were as expensive as homes and minimum liability limits (which most people carry) were much larger.
