The truth is, Neumann is the sub-par alias brand for low quality mics made by Neewer. They kept the original Neewer brand for their best mics, that's a fact.

The fun part is, you can actually invert this EQ and make an NW700 sound more like a U87Ai. It won't have the same low noise, distortion or the same polar pattern, but should sound similar enough on axis. That would be a fun comparison to make.

I actually like my NW 700! The proximity effect works well, you get nice bottom end up close, but then you really need to turn the gain down to almost zero or it'll clip.
Pretty impressive for the price really.
