thank you! this seems to have fixed a similar problem for me: I was connecting to a laptop that has intel integrated graphics, windows 10 pro. whenever the RDP window was minimized the CPU usage on the craptop would peg at 50% until i brought the RDP window back up to look at the laptop's desktop again. I wasn't sure i'd ever figure this out since if i was able to see which process was using the CPU the issue was non-existant! i had to restart the laptop before the group policy change took effect and the CPU usage pegging at 50% when RDP window minimized stopped happening. Will update this comment if the issue comes back and seems it didn't actually fix it lol

laptop's (remote machine) cpu: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz

I did every step but dwm.exe is still consuming lots of windows resources. I also noticed that lately the fan of my laptop never stops. can this be a trouble related to the last windows update?

Hey mdtech, thanks in advance for all you guides as I’ve used several. Can you do a tutorial for dwm.exe and crss.exe using 30% gpu usage just for moving the mouse around? I want to make it use my integrated graphics instead of my rtx 3080 but it won’t do it even if I tried to force those exe to use it via graphic settings on windows. Help Mdtech! 😢
