Ripple effects of fast food minimum wage hike across California

As fast food restaurants are now required to pay employees at least $20 an hour, some owners are turning to AI while others predict minimum wages for other industries will likely go up. NBC Los Angeles' Conan Nolan reports.

The only person who got an exemption was a man who owned eight Panera restaurants, just so happens he is a friend of Newsome's and donated 220, 000.00 to him. He was granted an exemption as a bakery. Did Subway or any other restaurants that make their own bread products get it, I doubt it.

It's not just the 4.00 per hour more, Employees will pay a bit more into social security, they will also pay more towards state and federal tax as their filing amount changes, that is of course unless they are illegal. This also cost employers more than 4.00 more, they have to pay a higher percentage into social security, unemployment, and employment taxes.
