Mysterious, adventurous, dark and emotional, those moods sounds great to me! Cool to know Royal Assassin is your favourite of the trilogy! I really should start Ship of Magic already.. but I want more Fitz and Ship of Magic is about different people (from what people have said). I love NightEyes too! Wow for being already almost done with your first book in December with it only being the second when you posted this!

I love Assassin's Apprentice and the good thing is I'm still reading it and have so many of her books ahead of me....it's going to be a great year of escapism coming up.

I always loved watching your wrap ups and this one was no different.
I should really consider giving the second book in WoT a try. Maybe I'll sample it and then decide.
I always love hearing you talk about RotE and it's been a blast chatting with everyone on the server.
I've definitely heard mixed things about A Deadly Education and I'm definitely on the fence about trying it.
Looks like you had a great reading month and I hope December treats you well!

Hey Sam. Good reading month for you. I only read one fantasy series in November which was Melissa Caruso's Swords and Fire trilogy (the Tethered Mage, The Defiant Heir and The Unbound Empire) Pretty good, especially the second and third books. There were a few things that I didn't care for (the main guy, sort of, in the first book was bland and blah and kinda clueless) but I enjoyed the series over all. You make me itch to reread/read Robin Hobb every time I watch a vlog post or instagram. Well, there's a new year coming ...

My nephew is reading the “Wheel of Time” series so going jump in on the ridiculous long series to read with him.😁

I technically only finished Royal Assassin in November, but I just finished Assassin's Quest on Dec 1, so it kinda counts considering how long that book is... (:
I am reading the last graduate right now -- I want to get through a few shorter books and maybe another sci fi pick for the end of the year because I tend to reread The Hobbit first thing at the new year as a tradition. Are you much of a sci fi fan? I still think about Project Hail Mary from this year. It was a ton of fun to read through. Not every book needs to be the exemplary work for its genre, and there are some flaws in the sci fi-ness of that particular story, but man... I am such a sucker for books whose premise can be simplified to being about the power of friendship, so I didn't mind. It's my top read for the year so far!

Hey Sam! As _the_ Booktube Robin Hobb guide, do you have any recs for how to motivate oneself to pick back up The Liveship Traders trilogy? I read The Farseer trilogy solely because I wanted to pick up The Liveship Traders. I mean, character driven pirate story with sentient ships and a female protagonist - what's there not to like, right?! Well.. sadly, turns out there's a lot of things to not like 😥
For a character driven reader like me, finding that I pretty much *despise* all of the main chars was a heavy blow (Althea especially can go jump off her own ship 🤬 as she's the first char that ever made me support violence towards women😱) I pretty much force read the first 140 pages of Ship of Magic and then gave up on the whole Realm of the Elderlings a year ago. But then... I'm so curious about the mystery that Hobb has set up in the Farseer trilogy 🤩, but it's hard to motivate myself to read on 3000+ pages solely for the sake of mystery 😅
So I wonder, as a seasoned Hobb fan, do you have any advice on how to motivate oneself to read on in such a situation? 🙂

On the other hand, I picked up Senlin Ascends a few days ago and I'm flying through it, it's so interesting and has so many of my favorite tropes! So I'm hoping to binge the whole series in the following 2-3 months 😁 Have you had a chance to check out that series? 🙂

Great wrap-up video.

I'm one of those fans...of the Wheel of Time that LOVES Rand. I know, we are the outliers. Seldom talked about, but we do exist.

I love The Dragon Reborn - 5 Star for me, The Shadow Rising is amazing, too...another 5 Stars Fires of Heaven - 4 Stars and Lord of Chaos - 5 Stars. Yes, amazing series. I am looking forward to your thoughts on these next few books. Really great stories.

Have you started watching the TV series on AmazonPrime? Your thoughts?

Thanks.
