In this video, I am fly fishing the Guadalupe River fishing for the Texas Rainbow Trout. Texas fly fishing is one of the most challenging forms of fishing the Lone Star State has to offer and one of the most exciting as well. Even though rainbow trout are not native to Texas, the Guadalupe River attracts anglers from all around the state.

In this video, we are on the Guadalupe River fishing for the Texas Rainbow Trout. Texas fly fishing is one of the most challenging forms of fishing the Lone Star State has to offer and one of the most exciting as well. Even though rainbow trout are not native to Texas, the Guadalupe River attracts anglers from all around the state.

I apologize for the lack of audio on one of my best trout fishing days of the year.

The small rainbow trout are the state-stocked rainbow trout while the bigger ones are the trout stocked by the Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited. If you enjoy fishing for Texas Rainbow Trout, please consider donating to Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU), practicing catch and release, removing the barb off of your hooks, and using single hooks to preserve this amazing and unique fishery. Go buy your rainbow trout from H-E-B (I am not sponsored by H-E-B but I would love to be) and let these fish stay in the Guadalupe River so hopefully one day we can see a new state record caught and released. I remove the barbs from my hook and practice catch and release.

Good to see there’s at least 1 brown left in the river lol has this year been kind of odd? I’ve noticed or at least for me, I catch either smaller 13-15” fish or 20”+, very very few in betweeners. Years past everything has been 15”+ a mix of all sizes.

Nice fish! Where did you catch that brown? I haven’t been able to get on a brown yet, only rainbows.

I'm heading to hunt texas and goin to be walking distance to the Guadalupe on Ingram hwy. If your familiar with that region how is the trout bite.
I stayed and fished the Guadalupe near canyon lake last year and did great. Just wasnt sure if this area was holding fish in abundance.
