I'm so happy to see you back and to know that you haven't disappeared! I'm also, very excited about the super secret projects!

What I've been up to? Well I've been working on some stuff as well.

The Art Assignment inspired me to do something that has now become my career. No, I didn't become a professional artist (nor do I want that), but I became an art history content creator!

Thanks to pioneer creators such as you, Nerdwriter and many others, I can live off of appreciating art. It's an extremely privileged position which I cannot thank the world enough for. You've definitely enable d that (for me and others). Thank you so much!

As Hank likes to remind us - producing joy *is* productive. Forget winning awards, your art produces joy for you and for so many other people. I have a Cosmic Pizza print and absolutely love it!

My new art development from the last two years is that I've been learning all about book binding! And wow! What a happy rabbit hole it has been! I started out by taking a few book binding courses at a local arts centre and the way it clicked in my brain, where it was challenging but not frustrating or particularly "hard", made it feel so instantly fun. Now I've been visiting different book binding stores, reading about it, and making my own books! I've found that it has completely changed how I appreciate books. While I used to pick up books in bookshops and think "what a great cover!" I'm now investigating how it was bound, how the book feels, etc.

I've also developed a curiosity and fascination with miniature furniture. I've been hosting a show about the history of interior design and in an attempt to add fun visuals without actually buying new furniture I thought it would be cute to get some miniature furniture. Well, that is a pandora's box that cannot be closed!!! I'm dying to go to Chicago to visit the Thorne rooms as soon as I can :)

This channel has given so much with such dense videos that I don’t think I can grow tired of going back and rewatching old videos. There is always something new and exciting I pick up on.

I started watching this channel at 11 because it was mentioned on vlogbrothers, now im a 20yr woman in art school- thank you for giving me so many useful frameworks and methods of knowledge acquisition especially as a kid who dropped out in 7th grade I have had a big learning curve and I suspect I am only at the beginning! Best wishes to everyone at the art assignment.

Thanks Sarah. If it weren't for the high quality and accessible art education you provided on this channel, I would never have started writing creatively ❤️ You inspired me to believe that creativity is available to all of us

So very nice to see you! This has been my very favorite Youtube channel for a long time and I'm glad you've been taking time to explore art in life on your own terms. Based on your video, I took a trip last summer to Utah to see all the glorious land art. Visiting the sun tunnels was one of the best art experiences I've ever had. I can't thank you enough for the recommendation!

Really excited about all these updates! Wanted to let you know that you showed my wife and I one of Amber Zuri’s works that was in storage at Butter2 (since the one on display was already sold) and we have commissioned a piece from her that we get to pick up this weekend! Butter and our general increase in art appreciation has been a really important part of our last few years and I’m thankful for your part in that.

I graduated from a performing art school 6 months ago. Needless to say my relationship with art changed a lot during pandemic times, and has continued changing since graduating. This week, I picked up a paint brush for the first time. From this place, I find it quite reassuring to hear someone else describe how their relationship with art is evolving.

So glad to hear from you!! You feel free to pop in and out as often as you like. I too, am spending more time outside of the internet by redoing a vacation home and curating the space like a “gallery”.

Happy to see you! i was asked to do collage for a denver gallery during the pandemic. these virtual exhibitions gave me the opportunity to exhibit in paris and helsinki, I won a virtual studio visit with the leslie lohman museum which resulted in a online fellowship. The pandemic allowed galleries to look farther afield instead of the usual suspects. once again love to see you again.bravo
