Ravalgaon, a small village nestled about 13 kilometres from Mathura, holds a special place in the hearts of devotees of Radha Rani. It's believed to be her birthplace, a humble beginning for the divine consort of Lord Krishna. Here's the detailed story behind her birth
Longing for a Daughter:

King Vrishabhanu, a Yadava ruler, and his wife Kirtida yearned for a child, especially a daughter, to fill their lives with joy. They were known for their piety and devotion to the gods. Vrishabhanu, a man of strong faith, spent countless hours in prayer, particularly on the banks of the holy Yamuna River.

The Miraculous Lotus:

One day, during his prayers, a magnificent sight unfolded before Vrishabhanu's eyes. A radiant lotus flower, unlike any he had ever seen, emerged from the glistening waters of the Yamuna. It emanated a celestial glow, drawing him closer. As he reached out, the lotus gently unfurled, revealing a beautiful baby girl nestled within its petals.

A Divine Blessing:

Overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude, Vrishabhanu took the baby in his arms. The divine child, radiating an otherworldly aura, opened her eyes for the first time. Legend says her gaze first fell upon Krishna, who was present in his celestial form, even as a baby. This moment is believed to symbolise the eternal connection between Radha and Krishna.

Naming the child:

Vrishabhanu and Kirtida rejoiced, recognising this as a divine blessing. They named their daughter Radha, meaning "success" or "prosperity." Ravalgaon, the birthplace of this extraordinary child, became forever associated with the beginning of Radha Rani's earthly journey.

The Temple of Raval:

Today, a small temple stands in Ravalgaon, commemorating Radha Rani's birth. While lesser known compared to Barsana, her childhood home, Raval holds significance for devotees seeking a deeper understanding of Radha's origins. Visiting the temple allows one to connect with the place where this divine love story began.
