The Tacx Neo has a baby brother! The Tacx Flux, both have practically silent turbos, but what happens when we put a noisy bike on the Flux, how loud is it then?

In this Zwift Gear Test, we've recorded the sound of the my gears, going backwards, for maxmimum mechanical noise, coming in about 55dB.

By comparison, the Tacx Flux only bounced off 59db at 700watts!

I had my TacX Flux for 3 months last winter and just started using it a couple of weeks ago due to weather and now there is a squeegee kind of noise coming from the non drive side, really noisy. I sent an email on the weekend and they haven't responded yet. I would assume this is not normal, the machine sounds like it is 10 years old.

I'd like to see how others compare. The Tacx Neo [2], for instance.

I think I am missing something here. Your test to factor in drive train noice seems logically flawed to me. When you pedal backwards on any bike with a free wheeling hub the hub itself makes a clicking sound. How loud that sound is depends on the free wheeling hub but most of the noise coming out of a bike that is either freewheeling or being peddled backwards is the hub noise. That is a sound that disappears once you start pedalling forward. Therefore if you wanted to get an accurate measure of the sound of you drive train alone you would be better off setting the bike up with the wheel on and the wheel off the ground. That would take out the sound of the free hub.

Off the topic (My Kurt Fluid is nice and quiet) since you are the zwift manual source; is the disc wheel still unlockable level 20? I heard the new course debuts in two weeks along with levels 26-30 gear. Soon every race will just be Tron bikes since the update makes them faster than Cervelo.

sounds a lot more quiet than the elite drivo on video. is this the next best thing to the neo regarding the noise of the unit ??

but TACX told me that this unit doesn't simulate downhill drive !!! Neo and Genius Smart both do !
Genius Smart has more features than this !
I am really confused which one I choose.
Any advice ?
