appreciate the honest outlay here .. i know it's genuine because it comports with my tropical island experiences .. for me the pros of 'paradise' are greatly enjoyed on visits .. but staying more than a few weeks and the cons start to aggravate me as well as i start getting bored since i am a city slicker .. but to each his own .. happy for you that you're happy settling there Jasper :)

Went to Boracay for a couple months in November/December 2022. Everything you said about the brownouts/and reasonable but not great selection of restaurants is true. I did look at some nice beach front properties and while not US beach property priced, not cheap. You can rent a beautiful panoramic ocean view penthouse 1 Bedroom unit in a 5 star property for <400/month, and if I go back that is what I am planning.

Not to mention inadequate health facility. If something serious happens, u really have to be flown all the way to manila, cebu or iloilo cities to get to a major tertiary hospital you will be dead on your arrival 😊
