Kanye West buys childhood home in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood

Kanye West recently purchased his childhood home in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. The musician’s mother, Donda West, purchased the home back in the early 1980s and sold it 2004.

I wish I could buy the home where my Mom and I lived in when I was in high school in Colorado.. looking back it was the only time in my life when life was carefree, and safe. Course at the time I couldn’t wait to be on my own and be grown. I’m 40 now and still to this day when I can’t sleep I picture myself in my old high school bedroom.

This is my dream. One of my childhood homes is a duplex that’s still standing. The other one was torn down so it’s just a lot, but I’d love to build a home on it, once I have the money to do extra things like that
