Japan is an independent country, not a colony of the United States and Israel.

Why the hell would you invite people guilty of war crimes to commemorate a war

For what reason should the USA dictate Nagasaki's decisions, especially for this event, when they're the ones who bombed them?

Why exactly Israel had to be invited? Are they somehow special that you cannot not invite them?

France refused to attend the ceremony too.

I am British and I think it is wrong for Britain and America to grandstand on this. We should not always play 'yes man' for Israel. Japan is an ally and we are snubbing Japan with this stance.

why insist Israel should come with the war thats going on with them rn? US and UK at least have lost their mind. May God give strength to major Suzuki-san to defend his decision.

"The Nagasaki and Hiroshima memorials are for humans to get together and share their common love for humanity and to discourage against war.

Inviting Israel would go completely against that, as only humans should attend these peace memorials.

It was a tough choice for the mayor to make, but the correct one."

Western countries who were ACTUALLY responsible for what happened in Nagasaki boycotting this event has kind of exposed them is a very pathetic way, I hope these countries realize that. In fact all of these countries including the US should have been dis-invited from Hiroshima and Nagasaki commemoration event long time ago. It was a war crime and none of these guys got punished.

Japan has just realized that no other countries in G7 respect Japan.

In April 1942 in the Philippines, 76, 000 prisoners of war (66, 000 Filipinos, 10, 000 Americans) were made by the Japanese to march for 6 to 10 days without food. These captives were beaten, shot, bayoneted, and, in many cases, beheaded; a large number of those who made it to the camp later died of starvation and disease.

Japan, the one country to hold other countries to their war crimes without admitting the dozens of Japanese war crimes.😮😅

Every time I see a comment saying that Japan has no right to celebrate the war crimes against their country because of the crimes their soldiers commited, I am absolutely astonished by western viewers' lack of self awareness

It's like saying American people don't deserve to honor 9/11 or Pearl Harbor because of all the women and children the soldiers sexually exploited in Vietnam

The average person shouldnt be punished for the crimes of the soldiers of the past.
