Driving in Montreal | Monkland Ave and Sherbrooke St, NDG | QC Canada May 2020

Driving on Monkland Ave and Sherbrooke St in NDG neighborhood in Montreal. These are the most popular spots in NDG. My trip stars at Girouard and Monkland, then I turn left on Hampton to go down to Sherbrooke Street. Then I continue on Sherbrooke street in the east direction until Decarie Expressway.

The proximity of two metro stations (Villa-Maria and Vendome) makes this neighborhood very convenient for a well-balanced life in the city. It takes about 10 minutes to get Downtown on a subway. This neighborhood is also a home to Concordia University (Loyola campus), two train stations and newly-build hospital located behind the Vendome Metro and Train station.

My old stomping ground from the Seventies! As with the West End of Vancouver, N.D.G. has been able to retain it's character. Where I'm living now in mid-Toronto is also pretty great, but like everywhere else, development threatens to eat away at the fringes. At least in Victoria when they build a condo, they make sure that ground level has: stores, libraries, groceries, and some affordable housing!

I miss NDG. Left QC after the second referendum. You ended right at Villa du Souvlaki. Haven't had those round fries with a great Souvi in forever.
