Not a roots type, it's a screw type. More efficient. The old 8-71's with paddles inside are a "roots' type.

Can't decide between getting this or a procharger for my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. Both have ups and downs, If it was for my car, I'd say procharger purely for the sound alone lol. But a whipple seems more like a truck setup.
