About the Chet situation, I think they cared more about how the decision will affect how people look at valorant overall. Champions was happening right after the incident, and the ascension was going right after, which are 2 big events that even people outside the valorant community can get involved into. And because there were those 2 events, they didnt want to make the announcement public because it can cause a significant amount of damage to viewership and the valorants competitive scene image itself

Ppl who think riot is too harsh have to realise that in any other corporation, what chet did would probably get taken to court, a six month suspension is not bad at all

I think FA cup style tournament format might the way for tier 2 teams participating in an international event. For instance, they could change the kickoff tournament format:
Current format: Double elim knockout, 4 champs team from last year in 2nd round, other teams iin 1st round
My proposed format: Double elim knockout, 8 playoff teams from last years' stage 2 in 2nd round, 4 VCT teams and 12 teams that have qualified from Tier 2 (via last season's stage 3 or completely new separate tournament) in 1st round.
2nd proposed format: Just a 16 team double-elim tournament where 4 tier teams are drawn against champs qualifying teams in the 1st round
3rd option(most realistic option for Riot I think): Just a current format but 4 tier 2 teams start in a lower bracket and play against losing teams from 1st round.
Top2 teams go to the 1st Masters, but I think qith the inclusion of tier 2 they should consider making 1s Masters bigger. Lastly, I think another Lock in style tournament would be awesome to watch now that we have developed 48 VCT teams. They could add best 16 tier 2 teams and make it huge 64 team tournament but I dont know if Riot can host such a big tournament that will last probably 40-45 days

Having 4 play-in slots for champs would be cool, getting 1 tier 2 team from each region. The storylines could be really good.

agreed. Chet 100% deserves it. after being fired from NRG, he was streaming unedited NRG games w/ coms on Riot’s own system w/o permission…. not to mention he talked massive shitt about Riot, played gunshot sfx while talking about his replacement, revealing that his Riot buddy was leaking things. dude is as unprofessional as it gets.
