Liverpool fan here and I 100% agree with the comments re Dom's history. He was a victim of Chelsea's internal politics whan he was a teenager; then he was at Liverpool when they had Mane, Firmino and Salah at their peak (who in the world would have got through them into that side ?), then he had to rebuild at Bournemouth in a side that was collapsing and sliding into the Championship. So, out of that he had to rebuild his confidence and his game, and as per the commentator here, 90% of players would have disappeared, so it says a lot for Solanke that he came back and became the player he is. I take my hat off to him.
👏👏👏

Think theres a bit of revisionism saying Son at striker wasnt successful. He was considered a very solid striker by most, its just his presence was missed out wide

Talking about Saudi for Richy when he himself said that he didnt want to go is kind of ignorant. Having 2 strikers that can step up is massive for the club

Very interesting podcast. I personally would like more variety from Ange in defensive formations. Play 3 at the back against counter attacking top teams like Liverpool. I still feel we will concede too many goals to challenge the top two. Locatelli was mentioned today - yes

Back up left back and rw should be the priority

Seb and Jack are fantastic guests. Seb in particular has such classy insights with a calm delivery style. Fantastic pod to listen to.

Could be a good season. Definitely have a Top 4 keeper and defence. A midfield that can score goals but has to do better to protect the defence. And now a striker.
An improvement on last seasons team. But not necessarily an improvement on last seasons final position.

Dom offers the much needed focal point Spurs have been crying out for …
Brilliant upper body strength, great feet and I see a player with lots of confidence to thrive on the service he’ll be getting from the new players around him. Great signing 🎉

Interesting answer from Jack/Seb on needing another CM, that doesn’t feel like a priority unless we get players out (Skipp and maybe Bissouma). Versatile front 4 player like Eze feels like what we most need as Seb mentions. Not sure why there isn’t more talk about the need for a LB more in the mould of Udogie, Davies is a fantastic servant for the club but feels like he might be better suited to CB in this new Ange system.

Whether Solanke is a success or not it's nice to finally see his early Chelsea career contextualised and brought back to light with the Liverpool move too, easy to forget he was seen to have a super high ceiling while he was there, higher than the likes of Tammy Abraham.

People forget he outscored Gyokeres while they were both in the Championship too and Gyokeres was seen to be the 'sexy option'.

Good video guys 👍

Fantastic observation about the excellent balance of personalities in the squad. That’s classic Ange. Choose good humans as well as good footballers. Make sure they complement each other. And especially, make sure there are no fvckwits in the squad

You can never replace an I conic player! Did we ever replace Jimmy Greaves until Harry Kane? Solankie is not a H. K. Replacement, but he will do a good job UNTIL! Let’s move Forward and not look backwards.

Referring to the Chelsea match as something to learn from means you don't understand Ange or what happened in that game. Spurs should've lost without VDV and Madders and Cuti and Udogie. Down to 9 men. And they DID lose. But instead of hunkering and hoping against hope, they tried to WIN, which is the opposite of Conte ball and it was glorious. And it almost came off... God, I loved it.

"Finally" as if its been 10 years, he only left last summer.

Yeah we absolutely dont need a CM, does this guy watch Spurs?

We need a RW & LB before that, and we can barely even register new players, no chance a CM fits.

Magnificent don’t forget my favourite striker Steve Archibald. Those were good times following Spurs.COYS.

Kane left the last week of the transfer window so all this ‘finally signed striker talk’ is rubbish, try going 3 transfer windows without a signing!

From when Harry Kane had his breakout season up to his last season at spurs there’s no one that will replace Harry Kane or his attributes
