Creole cottages are a staple of New Orleans architecture and this style of home is very synonymous with the city. Kayla, who is also a local real estate agent (contact detail below) walks you through one such home that happens to be on the market at the time of this video's publication.

You'll likely be charmed by all of the historic features in this house, from the wood floors to the 6 fireplaces, and all of its hidden nooks and crannies.

This video is not just for those considering buying a home in the city but is also intended for those who are looking to understand better what they might be renting when they visit the city.

Please do more house tours! IMO it would be a worthy segment of its own for this channel

Would love to see more house tours with Kayla! I think the reason I love this channel is because you don’t just limit us to tourist content but Louisiana culture and history.

Please include house tours in the future. Love seeing the European influences with the New Orleans twist. Should I admit, while visiting in the past, I have waked thru the Garden District at dusk when the homes are beginning to light up and peer thru the windows. The furniture, accessories and art are stunning! To be invited inside…I’m in! Thanks Andrew and Kayla!

She reminds me of an elementary school teacher and I’m a wake n baker. I’ll sit quietly with my juice box as she teaches us about Nola. Not a problem. Maybe because she’s animated? She rocks her facial expressions.

Well, I would just like to say what a delight it is to hear a REALTOR who knows about the architecture and design she is featuring! It is hard to respect a realtor who couldn't be bothered to educate themselves about HOUSES. Isn't that their business, after all? This was great; thank you.

My great grandma had a shotgun house in Abbeville. Seeing this brought back memories.

Ha! I recognized this house immediately - it's one that I have saved on Zillow, I just added it yesterday. I'm not in the market though, just a Zillow tourist.

I love house tours! Especially when the homes have been kept as historic as possible. This is a great way to learn colloquial details about different house styles--thanks!

Love this. The bicycle seats are also known as Butter Burr, botanical name is Petasites, and are hardy even up north here in New York. Gorgeous home. Thanks!

Adding another vote for more house tours. I can't think of a better place than New Orleans to get a huge range of historic house styles. Even the building materials used in New Orleans are unique. Would be awesome to see more!
