I’m confused as to why you’d have so many coaches on your bench, who’s purpose should be to oversee the current players development and understanding of what’s needed to make the team successful. If Thib’s main issue with Obi is his lack of efficient defense, what are those assistant coaches doing to earn they’re paychecks??
Obi for what I can see, still stands way to upright on his defensive stance, and then leads with his arm and upper body when guarding a opponent. Case in point, just look at how Grimes moves on defense, his legs and lower body are moving first, anticipating the direction his opponent is going to move. Are they working with Obi on strengthening his lower body and improving his lateral quickness and special awareness??i don’t give a 🤬 about his 3 point shooting, I want him to be a force in transition, and a terror as a week side defender. Are these coaches really doing they’re jobs is my question..

Q-Tip! That was dope! I know Thibs can be frustratingly stubborn at times. But something that may be overlooked, especially when it's tough do so after a bad loss, is where would this team be right now without Thibs? Don't forget this is still a very similar roster talent wise to what Fizdale was working with and we all know how that went. We've seen huge strides from Randle/RJ/IQ during Thibs' tenure and a playoff appearance. Is this even a .500 team without Thibs right now? I love Obi. Want to see him get more burn and play with a dynamic PG, but he did have an opportunity to start in Julius' absence and it didn't go very well. Obi has alot of holes in his game still. I think the main point is c'mon Thibs if Obi has it going, then let him rock more!!! But also gotta' look at the overall picture of where this team would be w/out Thibs.

I've been saying this from the start. Thibs need to play Obi more, If not their value goes down and we end up repeating our mistakes. I like the culture but the guys look tired out there sometimes. Give more minutes to Obi and watch Julius have less pressure and play better. Deuce he is scoring 39 in the G league and can barely get 3 mins here. This is a shame! Qtip was on the money. Also, Extend Mitch now.

Q Tip is RIGHT! It’s Thibs! It’s time! We gotta move on. He’s an OG coach stuck in his ways. He’s not changing. He’s not gonna give OBI MORE TIME TO GROW! He is stale. He’s played out right now. He’s stubborn to the core. He will ride out Randle AND give TAJ more mins! It’s obvious that this isn’t gonna get any better. Leon and the front office need to SIT THIBS DOWN & say “GIVE THE YOUNG GUYS CLOCK” or you gotta roll. We can’t have this continue to happen. ITS THIBS!!!!
