A LOT of people get leg pain with their periods, and wonder if they're crazy! The uterus is in the pelvis, but it's also surrounded by blood vessels, nerves, and muscles, which connect to the leg!

* Nerves and muscles can be inflamed by #endometriosis or #adenomyosis or compressed by #fibroids

* The blood vessels of the leg can dilate because of progesterone, which can lead to pooling of blood, and leg swelling or worsened varicose veins

If you're having SEVERE pain of any sort, please see your Gynecologist for evaluation! Even if things are common, if they're affecting your quality of life, they're NOT NORMAL, and you can get relief with treatment! 🙏

OMG!! I can't tell you how many weird looks I'd get when I'd tell docs about my intense leg pain. Fast forward a few years, and I was diagnosed with fibroids.

I get back cramps, normal cramps, and leg cramps. Sometimes my legs hurt so bad it's difficult to stand. Or they just feel so tired I can't support my weight. :(. I get this inflammation when I'm sick too, and already have issues with my legs from Pyriformis Syndrome (my sciatic nerve runs through those muscles).

I just wish my periods would go away for good. My friend did tell me if you get blood clots it makes those cramps worse so I should start walking to help relieve both clotting and pain. Luckily some months are better than others.

As a teen, my lap would ache a few days before, and recently, the thigh hurts. Was recently diagnosed with fibroids a few months ago

My thighs didn't normally hurt on my period, but the muscles would feel weak. Now I'm on a birth control that stopped my period entirely 🎉
