8:58 classic doggie rant, hilarious how he was about to ask whether chris young went to harvard then stopped mid-thought when he realized young went to princeton lmao

Russo kills me when he uses Miller Huggins as the standard first off he didn't watch Huggins manage and secondly he managed loaded Yankee teams that my grandma could have won with

Not a fan of Russo but he is correct about the recent mgr moves in the major leagues thus far.

It’s a 90-100 mile commute between Chicago to Milwaukee

Mad Dog obviously didn’t do his homework on this. He was never going to go to the Mets. He didn’t even give them an opportunity to match the offer so he obviously wasn’t interested, and he SAID he wasn’t interested in going to New York…

If you think Ross was a good manager you didnt watch. He was not. Oh sure he was well liked and guys played hard for he was a BAD tactician. You dont get it Mad Dog. Your view is too far away.

He broke camp with three catchers and two outfielders. He tried to cut the guy that ended up becoming the setup man. It took him 3 months to figure out Alzolay should close. He put Javier Assad, a sinkerballer with a low a huge clutch situation in the 8th inning OF THE THIRD GAME OF THE SEASON (they lost, duh) The Cubs couldnt win a close game TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. They were TERRIBLE on the margins all year. Ross frequently leaves pitchers in one batter too late or does not have the right guy up at the right time. He uses 100 different lineups a year. Literally.

Oh by the way the ONLY time Ross got the Cubs to the playoffs in an EASY division they got swept by the

So... this is interesting. If I were to believe everything that was said from everyone:
"Buck did everything he was told to do"
"Buck was not making the lineup and didn't want to play guys like Vogelbach"
"Eppler was manipulating the roster" (probably no more than other teams, but, stick with me for my tin foil hat theory)
"Buck is difficult to work with and thinks he knows everything"

This would mean that, Buck basically told Billy and whomever else that the decisions they were making were wrong. Given how this season went, injuries aside, Buck would be right. Essentially, this would mean the scripting of the games and roster manipulation failed. I think that is why Billy was asked to step down. Stearns, also, wants someone who will do as he is told, no questions asked, which is why Buck was fired, despite whether he was right or not, Stearns doesn't want to fight his manager. again, this is if everything being said is true. It makes sense now. I think it's dumb. Managers should manage their teams and not just be puppets, but we'll see. There's a happy marriage between the two, obviously. I don't think that' ever up for debate, but... this also isn't MLB: The Show. Teams with over reliance on the analytics and not the pulse of the game, well... you see their success rate.

Just tell the truth Mad Dog. The Cubs stole your Mets manager and now your jealous.

The Mets pay Lindor 340 million and he didn't make the All star team. Alonso is the only Met player going there.

“Ross has been an excellent manager?” Dog hasn’t watched a Cubs game all year. Stick to your east coast teams. The criticism in Chicago has been well documented but Rossy was just so beloved…

And his lack of understanding of Milwaukee is typical. Regionally, the whole state of Wisconsin HATES Chicago. It’s well known. Counsell is Mr. Wisconsin…so yea, it cuts deep up there.

I'm glad Counsel didn't go to the Mets because it would have been a disaster for him. Stearns has the same shotty resume as Counsel for all the same reasons. The next few years are going to be a disaster for the Mets.
