Silver Scat (Selenotoca multifasciata) is stunning fish endemic to Papua, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia. It inhabits brackish mangrove estuaries and coastal freshwater.

Habitat: Sandy and rocky areas with a lot of hiding places is the natural habitat of it.

TDS: 300-500 ppm (hard water)

Usual size on trade: 2 cm, 4 cm, 5 cm

Characteristic: Silver scat is very lively and aggressive fish that require enough swimming area and also some shady places for hiding. It needs a small amount of salt at first but will do fine in pure freshwater. Ours are fully adapted to freshwater. It can grow very fast with proper food and space therefore it is the right fish for hobbyist who loves to grow fish. Planted tank is not recommended since it will nip at the leaves.

Diet: Silver scat will eat high grade pellets and frozen bloodworm very well.

Suitable tank mates: Other scats like Red scat or Green Scat, Archer fish and Monodactylus.
Unsuitable tank mates: Small Tetras, Zebra Danio, Invertebrates and gouramis.
