What is IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)

When it comes to cloud computing, infrastructure as a service is the most commitment behind an on-premise deployment -- like leasing is to owning a car. IaaS provides virtualized computing resources over the internet, like servers, storage, networking, hardware, and virtualization in a pay-as-you-go model.

IaaS can save organizations money in many cases, but it’s not always a perfect solution.
