Griffin's childish and artifical "all I did" excuse was prompty and rightfully slapped away by the judge. The only point I would have added is that the attorney must hold himself to a higher ethical standard as a member of the defense team than if he were not involved in these proceedings.

It's intentional. The lawyer knows he should not be doing that. They're just trying to set the stage for a mistrial.
