Sun 'n Fun 2025: Bose ProFlight 2 Product Tour

The Bose ProFlight Series 2 in-ear aviation headset has been out for a few years but buyers still don't know if they can work in piston cabins or if they are limited to quiet turbine-powered aircraft. Bose says they might work well in both, but we think you need to try them in your bird first. As a follow-up to the full flight trial in the January 2025 issue of Aviation Consumer magazine, Larry Anglisano stopped by the Bose exhibit at Sun 'n Fun 2025 in Florida for a demo with Bose Aviation's Chris Wuerlf.

These work great for piston engine. I recommend getting custom ear tips made and all your issues with comfort and total noise blocking will be fixed, even in piston aircraft.

Im trying to replace my original ear tip to a foam tip for more comfort, do you know if there is a special dimension or will any generic foam tip fit on the proflight2?

I see more and more piston pilots switching over to the in-ear style. Got to be something to it.

Anybody using these in a Cessna Caravan? Considering this to upgrade to from my old Bose AHX

Love ours in a Cessna 182 and they work well . . . we did a Product Review on them and show that if you have Long Hair, Wear a Ball Cap, Wear Sunglasses, etc . . .
That all these things break the seal of an over the ear muff style headset in varying degrees. Not to mention that in the summer time without A/C the ear sweat!
