My Investment Strategies

My name Hannah Bronfman and I am an angel investor and content creator. In this video I will talk about why I invest and how it plays into my overall brand strategy. I focus on minority founders with a large emphasis on female founded companies that are creating "better for you" and "better for the planet" products and platforms.

Through my own experience starting a technology company in 2012 and raising capital from VC's in the early consumer tech bubble I learned a lot of strategies and tactics that I thought would be helpful to others going through the process. I started out mentoring entrepreneurs and helping them with their go to market strategies, best practices for community building, influencer marketing, PR and celebrity gifting etc. At the same time I was building my own social media presence in Health, Beauty and Wellness. While learning in real time about growth strategies.

Wellness has always been my north star for my own content creation and for my investing ethos. I love to invest in consumer brands whether DTC or Omni channel - Beauty, F&B, Fem tech, SASS platforms, Fertility hardware and more.

I definitely was not taught this information as a kid from my hispanic parents. I never knew what venture capitalist or angel investors were until a couple of years ago as a small business owner. 😌 Thank you for sharing your experience and for investing in so many woman and BIPOC businesses.

Thanks for sharing Hannah! I built a venture backed clean beauty brand in South Africa and had pretty similar experiences engaging with VCs here. Raising venture finance is still incredibly challenging for women of colour. Also, the story about about PH is so important and such a lesson on choosing your cofounders carefully. I've heard this story many times!

I think especially with tech products, non-technical founders are always pressured to get a technical co-founder and often investors see it as like "essential", but especially in this day and age where you can outsource alot of the development and also use no/low code solutions (Or just teach yourself to code), getting a technical co-founder should not be seen as mandatory.
