I liked the way you put the work piece backward in the collet I'm stealing that tip

we are always amazed at the things that you are able to make. I think you should build a custom lathe from scratch! It would be so cool and I know you could make each and every part!!

Good point on how to center it and the improvements you would do on the next one!

We had a ball or radius tool that would turn a radius on your part that you were making, The problem was it had a lot of chatter when you used it. You had to make baby Cuts to finish out your ball. I think thats a good Idea. I would of never thought of using a boreing head that way on a lathe.

Would it be a good idea to drill a third hole in the boring head to accept the cutting tool?
That way you can see and use the adjustment screw without stopping the operation..😉

I'm still not exactly sure what you were doing, but I enjoyed watching along anyway. Nice shirt, btw! Also, ball joke.

I'd recommend getting a smaller tap wrench for taps that small. They have shorter arms so you can't really put as much torque on the tap.

It must be nice to have some shiny balls that can be kicked around the shop

I wonder if possible to make 2 inch balls with it? Thanks

Why didnt you just mount that M3 tap in the tailstock chuck if you were worried about torquing it off with the tap wrench

Mine has a longer handle with a crank / bend to clear the tool post.
