“If he goes to a team that’s not good? It’s going to be a disaster.”😂

Colt McCoy also noted the drifting thing reviewing film with Drake Maye. Seems like he drifts to the side he wants to throw to.

I think people are so enamored with the hype of what Drake Maye COULD be that people are blatantly ignoring what Drake Maye ACTUALLY is, right now. He can be great but there’s a lot of work to be done.

To be fair, lamar, allen, wentz, mahomes, love, richardson and herbert all improved their accuracy from college to nfl by fixing their mechanics. Wentz still pigeon toed a lot too and Richardson is still inconsistent but overall those guys weren't consistent rotational passers, and they cleaned it up in the league. It's definitely possible to fix axcuracy issues that stem from throwing mechanics and footwork

This is an amazing breakdown. I hope you do one on JJ McCarthy… even though I know he didn’t throw as much last year, he’s got the talent. His best feature though is his maturity and persona. He’s a great kid.

Kurt, your insightful film breakdown of Drake Maye is exceptional. Your professional expertise not only addresses concerns but also reveals a deep understanding of the NFL quarterback position. Analyzing tougher opponents like North Carolina State University adds valuable insights beyond the typical highlights against teams like Duke or Appalachian State. I appreciate the focus on a challenging game, especially considering it was his last. Maye's raw talent and Merrill Hoge's comments, along with your detailed follow-up, provide a comprehensive view of his skills.

Can you do this on pat mahomes final game in Texas tech? Could you see what Reid/ chiefs saw?? Forgetting what he has become obviously, just to compare these guys at same stage? Great video!!

Love your QB breakdowns. I already sense, given what you've said about Daniels & Maye, that you've definitely got Daniels ranked way above. Now, would be really interesting to look at tape where Maye has a good game (at least statistically) and Daniels has a bad one (again, at least statistically) and see whether your findings do extrapolate over multiple games. Would like to see whether Maye continues to miss on reads & throws, and if Daniels continues to play well.

Obviously based off of one game for each only, but from what you've said, the only thing I see that can be used against Daniels is his age.

It would be interesting if you could breakdown Josh Allen sometime to see if he really was as raw as people and media said he was

I’m so late to this video but if you didn’t notice, On the first pass where he looked left and didn’t take it, his wr slipped on his release then another wr slipped in the middle of his route too

Drake Maye's career trajectory to me needs to be almost exactly like Josh Allen's. I don't entirely agree with that full on player comparison, but he needs to go to a team that can be a fringe playoff team in his first couple of seasons when he was almost certainly struggle. Will not be surprised whatsoever to see him look pretty bad in his first two seasons, but if the team he's on goes 9-8 one of those years and sneaks into the 7th seed, he starts to look pretty damn good in year 3 and 4 and his team starts getting 11/12 wins. The issue is if he goes to a team that is not good enough to win some games despite his struggles (cough New England, ) and he looks bad while getting only 4 or 5 wins, then he's almost guaranteed to be a bust.

That footwork is brutal, however; Mahomes had really bad footwork in college, as well. After you finish all the breakdowns for the top QBs you should rank them. Keep up the great work.

I watched a lot of his 2023 film and thought he wasn’t a first rounder but watch him in 2022. Looks like a different player. Maybe you right about the injury
