Kraftwerk are undoubtedly innovators of many eventual electronic subgenres, the one thing they didn't invent was having those rhythmic simple sustained drum patterns. That's attributed to The Silver Apples. But don't take my word for it. Listen to their song Oscillations which was recorded in 1968.

Surprised you didn't mention I Feel Love by Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder. I've been obsessed with Kraftwerk since Autobahn and had the good fortune to finally see them thirty years later in 2005 at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles when the core members were still there.

I'm sooo glad I was around for this time period. I remember a kid sitting in the stairwell in high school, with a boombox blasting 'Numbers'. I still remember that amazing sound echoing in the stairwell! They truly are The Grandfathers of modern music.

They were more influential than The Beatles due to so many artists doing this type of music, but the volume of artist shall not be compared to the extraordinary quality of Beatles music. David Bowie himself was heavily influenced by The Fab Four, along with thousands of Rock bands around the world. Anyway, yeah…Kraftwerk were ahead of their time as well.
