AB-PMJAY was launched in 2018 with the vision of making healthcare more equitable in India. AB-PMJAY, an improved version of the previous national level government health insurance schemes, is crucial in India's ambitious journey toward Universal Health Coverage. A team of researchers from Association of Socially Applicable Research (ASAR) assessed the impact of government funded health insurance schemes, focusing mainly on PMJAY, on making healthcare more equitable.
