Guardian you need to correct your reporter Lauren Gambino in Washington who has stated the following in her live coverage online

16:07
Mueller: Investigators did not have confidence the president did not commit a crime
“If we had confidence that the president had committed a crime, we would have said so, ” he said. He added, citing a DOJ policy: “Charging the president with a crime was therefore not an option we could consider.”

She has clearly misquoted Mueller - he said in this video at 11:46 - " if we had confidence that the president clearly did NOT commit a crime we would have said so". Its very different from what she is implying he said, in fact its the opposite. Please correct it.

An OLC policy is has little to do with what is written in the Constitution. This has more to do with the fairness doctrine. The policy of the OLC was actually created to not permit a president to use the presidency as a prosecution shield. The fact that Trump is now doing exactly that only shows how short-sighted and badly written that policy was when it was written. It needs to be abolished.

After hearing Mueller's statement, CONGRESS should start impeachment inquiries, and if they did not do so, would be negligent to their duties to the American people. Now sure, the inquiries might not lead to actual impeachment, BUT the inquiries should be started none the less. Otherwise, vote these Congress members out of office and put people in there who will. Ditto for the Senate who don't support these inquiries.

Are they ever gonna resolve this thing or will it drag on forever...?

What puzzles me the most about all this "Investigation" stuff is... With all the redaction of names and deeds obliterated with nothing but black ink on paper, somebody somewhere must KNOW who and what is in there. So... just who is that "somebody" and I hate to think that a "somebody" has more power than the President, Congress and Judiciary in this. How can that be under a legitimate Constitution...??? Doesn't add up right, does it...???

Where is Harry Truman's ethos when you need it...?

There must be some sort of "poison pill" underneath all that black redaction ink...! It's beginning to remind me of Nixon's 18-1/2 minutes of blank audio tape.

It seems to me that redeactions justified by reasons of national security are legitimate but if by political fiat are foul and stink a whole lot worse than any Watergate laundry.

Democrats should either sh*t... or get off the pot...

I wish we could see some sort of a conclusion in this... Round an' round we go, as long as lawyers can generate some sort of a fee structure. "ENUFF...!!!"

America should say it loud and clear...!!! It all just underlines an ideological polemic that generates news. Sometimes I think that it is all just a smoke screen intending to keep Trump distracted from his mandate to drain the swamp by obstructionists with a strategy and an agenda... When due process becomes vendetta.

The decency and statesmanship of this gentleman and weight of intellect and erudition makes us remember that the nations capital was once the seat of such men as these. It makes buffoons such as Trump look like a hound in a hat. Measuring the creature for one is an interesting but ultimately futile experience, he will always just be a hound.
