I just love the way Toni handled herself during this interview! They were out to demean her but she turned the tables around by sharing honestly and easily with humor! She did a fantastic job. So instead of people pointing a fingersat her about her indulgence and troubles now they point her out as an over comer in a business that can eat you alive! Both her bankruptcies are both completely understandable

The first one was a completely hideous first record deal. Almost everyone in those days had awful first deals. She was on top of the world, but it cost a lot to put her on top, and it all came out of her own paycheck

The second bankruptcy was a technicality that the insurance company found to get themselves out of payment. Toni was performing a lucrative stint in Vegas around her Libra album, but had a heart attack and her lupus debilitated her. Because of this, she could no longer perform, but all that lighting equipment, dancers and overall tech for her show had to be paid for, and because the insurance company got themselves out of it by using Toni's illness against her, she was forced to pay and thus forced to file bankruptcy again.

It sounds like 2 insane situations, but few people have had the unique circumstances Toni has been in.

It makes me sad to think that Tony Braxton felt sadness over some of her albums not selling as many records later in her life. Some of my favorite albums are ones that just weren't COMMERCIALLY successful, but they were still awesome. Tony Braxton is an inspiration, is really talented and looks damn good for her age. All seriousness.... Of all the scandals that musicians have, if this is her only career and personal scandal... hey I'd take it. We have never seen her involved in drugs and men after men or fighting... Just a string of #1's and a bankruptcy (cause of her evil record label and no one to truly cared to help her budget) . This is all the scandal please Toni is a true Soul R&B legend now... her songs are epic and timeless and so is her voice.

It is now 2023 andI love how she was finally able to shut all the media BS down with her unfolding TRUTH! All people in media seemed to want to break her, embarrass her, call her names etc. and the whole time there were absolutely legit things going on behind the scenes. Where is this interviewer now with his snarky comments? Where is the reboot going in on shady record companies and managers that have ripped off artists for decades?
Toni Braxton has been one of my top 3 favourites since she came onto the music scene and she is truly LIVING in her glow, her status as a legendary selling and singing woman, and the continued love from her fan base!
