I had a roommate that was the victim of some terrible abuse as a child that was repressed and unresolved. As an adult she developed what people call a "victim mentality". Not a day would go by where she didn't feel like she was being victimized, often interpreting the most benign interactions as abusive. Its actually pretty sad because they are reliving their past trauma every day except that in the present, the unresolved trauma is self-inflicted by their projections. The lady in your video talking about racism reminded me of my roommate.

It's a circular argument, illogical to its core. Interestingly, it's the exact same kind of "logic" that was used during the era of the witch trials.

they started this practice when Tim Crook took over. i worked in retail for over a decade and it was on full roll starting in maybe 2013. included preferential treatment, DEI hiring, and only giving the cost-of-living pay increase (aside that one-time "merit" LOL increase across the board, which doesn't sound like merit if EVERYONE got a raise) although the work done (and reported via Medallia many times per day) as 10/10 performance with practically every customer. merit doesn't mean shit to Apple, hasn't since 2011.

It kinda reminds me of the "Canada research chairs", which are prestigious research positions funded by our federal government. It was reported in the news that the recruitment of such chairs at Laval University, in Québec City, was heavily biased.

Basically, in the woke types dress an exhaustive list of who is eligible to apply. The problem is that absolutely everyone is eligible to apply except...yeah, you've guessed it: Caucasian men...Okay, but at my alma mater, we are 37% of men versus 63% of women...aren't we the minority here?

In any case, the universities are caught between the tree and the bark since they cannot really afford to refuse public financing for research positions since the whole university ranking system is based on the impact of the research published by universities and their researchers.
