LAMB OF GOD (N.O.Villanueva)

This very popular version of the AGNUS DEI (Lamb of God) was composed by Mr. Nikko Oliver Villanueva, from the album “Mass of St. John Bosco.” Rendering this version of the Agnus Dei is the Good Shepherd’s Voices, one of the regular choirs @ St. John Bosco Parish in Arnaiz Ave., Makati City. The Agnus Dei proclaims our faith in Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. We invoke him to have mercy on us and grant us peace, that as we partake this Eucharistic food, we may become instruments of his mercy and peace towards others. The Fraction of the Bread symbolizes that just as Christ is broken and shared for those who want to receive him, so we who are receiving him in Holy Communion are called to unite our brokenness in life and make ourselves whole in sharing our time, talent, and treasure with other people.
