• k-idols having control over their music, producing, being allowed to write their own music
• “lining up” the charts- nobody had done it before- g dragon invented lining up the whole albums songs on the chart with his first solo album, and since that album has managed to do it with every solo comeback since.
• underground rappers entering the idol industry (not GD, but gd was the one who brought TOP, an underground rapper, into the group)
• the “mini-album” for big bang

Watched most of Gen 2 and then fell a bit off on the kpop scene and then watching the newer groups, then coming back to gen 2...Man, G-Dragon and Bigbang are still on top. A lot of the styles that Bigbang created in the late 2000s to the 2010s are still being used now. They truly were one of a kind.

GD was always ahead of his time, the song was released in 2012 but it sounds like something that could be released today, eight years later, and still top the charts and be listened to by many (who likes songs of this particular genre). He really is "One of a Kind"!
