Thank you so much for taking the time to explain the importance of cleat type and going above and beyond to really break down all the details when it comes to artificial grass and AG/MG boots. As the father of several boys who spend many hours each week playing football on artificial grass fields, I want to do all I can to reduce the risk of injury. I had no idea how important this issue was before watching your videos. While AG boots are difficult to find near me, I’m glad I can buy some from Unisport! Keep up the great work.

So... be honest: do you wear AG or FG boots on artificial grass? /Jay

I wear my Tiempo Legend 8 AG when I play on artificial grass, and I love them because it's an already excellent pair of boots plus the appropriate stud pattern for the pitch!

It depend on stud shape some FG boots can play on artificial pitch such as Asics DS Light, Adidas Copa Mundial, Nike Premier, Mizuno Morelia 2, Mizuno Morelia Neo, Those are circle stud and low shape.
For my opinion if the pitch is good enough (artificial grass high around 5mm or above) you can use some pair in my example list.

Thank you for this video, such an important topic and couldn't agree more with your top 5! I play almost exclusively on AG (older generation one) and the Puma MG stud pattern is by far the best I've ever used on it, and I tried many different AG stud patterns! It would be very nice if also other brands would offer this kind of stud pattern, because now I can only buy Puma boots. Thankfully Puma is releasing very good boots recently, but it's a shame that the other brands are sleeping on this stud pattern with many short studs.

Tore my rectus femoris last fall and the injury was likely caused over time by playing with FG boots on artificial pitches almost daily for years. Full recovery is 9-10 months and I’m dying to get back to the pitch later this spring. Please, please listen to Jay Mike in this video. Buy AG boots. Prevent injuries. No injury (time away from the beautiful game, physical therapy, money, surgery) is worth playing in FG boots. Just play AG on artificial surfaces, best decision you can make.

If your AG pitch is shallow and not soft enough, you should use TF boots.

I've gotten into football and have been looking at boots to start playing with, and i live in a pretty dry country so this video is perfect!

Thank you so much and keep up the amazing work!

Here in the US, it is hard to get AG cleats. As an alternate, I recently got Mizuno Morelia neo 3 beta because it has cornicle studs. So far, I have zero complain about it when I play on the artificial ground (turf). Comparing to another boot of mine, nike mercurial vapor 15 elite, I have less pain on my knee, ankle, and pelvis after match. Although soccer boots from mizuno is expensive, it is worth to buy for the people who are in the same situation with me.

Super helpful. We never had much for AG pitches when I played but my boy is now practicing and playing some games on AG now as well as out door so. He likes the Puma Future NJR MG cleats so glad to see they made the list as a reputable pair. Hopefully they still provide him with enough grip on the FG as well. Cheers!

Is there a chance you would be able to go into the crucial distinctions between AG and TF boots? I recently just purchased some Tiempo Legend 9 Pro TF boots in hopes to start playing on some local indoor turf pitches and was recommended to go the TF route as opposed to the AG style. I just never got a clear understanding of when/where to choose either AG vs TF. Thanks for the great content by the way!

I wish they made more AG boots in youth sizes. So many kids today are playing on artificial surfaces and there are so few options.

The Puma MG is an amazing boot on artificial turf/ground and i have been constantly using these boots, no complaints at all. Even on hard pitch grounds this Puma MG's are awesome.

The 'Pro' versions of Nike's AG boots are always the best value. The Phantom and Mercurial cater for most foot shapes.

After some research I decided to give the Mizuno a try and the quality is just so amazing I wouldn’t expect that for the price!!

If you like leather football boots I would recommend the Morelia neo 3 pro Ag because they feel amazing and controlling and kicking the ball is perfect

I tore my meniscus wearing turf(TF) boots on artificial grass with the rubber pellets. I went for a 50/50 challenge with the ball on my right feet. My left foot lost traction and my left knee gave out.

Great video! You brought up all the important points and the different typos pf AG soleplates.
When playing on artificial grass pitches I wear my Vapor 14 Elite AG boots; I like them because they have the same style stud pattern as the Tiempo Legend AG boots that you showed.

Currently rotating a pair of Superfly 8 AG and Morelia Neo III FG. Both fantastic on AG for me.

I wear the superfly 8s AG elite pro, they have the same ag studs as the tiempos in this vid. I wish the next mercurials go back to that stud pattern
