I find it rather curious, the depiction of this recent hurricane compared to the images & reaction of hurricane Katrina. Poeple on roofs, on freeway over passes, compared to hurricane Ian, hundreds of pleasure boats piled up, homes destroyed but, plainly the majority of residents had the means to escape the path of destruction where the residents of New Orleans did not. The description of this latest hurricane as being the most destructive & deadly ? To my memory, even the emergency response has been much more immediate than what took place in New Orleans. George Bush flying over in Air Force One. Even Donald Trump in Puerto Rico throwing paper towels. There is no comparison. Yes there is destruction, yes there is suffering, yes there is death & injury but, to my knowledge & remembrance, New Orleans was on a scale never before witnessed. The lack of response, the lack of humanity, the lack of preparedness by the State & Federal officials was simply staggering. Hurricane Katrina was thee hurricane that tore at the soul of humanity. Hurricane Katrina & hurricane Ian do not compare. 0_o
