Movie franchises - we all have our favorites. Whether it be Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, the MCU, James Bond, Indiana Jones, Toy Story, Back to the Future or even (for some reason) Boss Baby. But which franchise is actually the best? Well, to tell you the truth, we can’t actually answer that as it’s mostly subjective. What we can answer is which franchise is the biggest and most successful, especially in terms of financial revenue and how much they pull in at the Box Office. And of course, that’s what we are going to take a look at here. While we will take other factors into account such as critical acclaim, iconicity and longevity, to be honest our main focus is on how much cold hard cash they have managed to pull in and which ones are deemed the most financially successful.

These most successful (in a financial sense) movie franchises include an iconic spy series that started all the way back in the 60s, a much more recent superhero series based off famous comic books, a franchise which debuted actually pretty poorly but has gone on to be an absolute juggernaut in the movie industry, to of course one small franchise that is set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. So get ready to go through a boat load of massive numbers (like seriously, absolutely huge numbers) as we take a look at the most successful movie franchises.

After endgame, I seriously thought that marvel had it's end in great content. I grew up reading all the comic books and watching all of these movies The Avengers and Spider man is always my #1 especially Infinity War and Endgame. Star Wars I was so upsets since I was 4 years old, having lightsabers legos and video games.

Bond's missed bet: Casino Royale is a debut story. By Skyfall, he's a seasoned veteran of his game and recovered from all the hardships that nearly finished him.

They could have gone back to the episodic formula from there. Reinventing Blofeld and blowing up MI6 was a mistake.

Irony is unlike other movies... The LOTR didn't try to milk their audience with more movies but instead focused on quality
They could have made one or two more movies from that and made even more money but choose not to... That makes LOTR a whole lot special
And it made the viewers, book nerds, and reviews a whole lot happy and made an amazing film way ahead of its time
