Y'know what Jerry? Since I too am a novice at wooden ships, I am going to try one of these Chinese kits. I saw em on eBay real cheap. There is another called "The New Port" in 1/70 scale and another called "Classics Antique Ship Model". That is basically a 1/80 scale Chinese Junk model, which looks kinda cool with 5 masts and square sails. I was wary of them before but seeing the Halco 1/100 (Halcon it says here in my eBay, exact same ship) you have there, these have gotta be worth a go. Like you said, a great model to learn on before taking on the much more complex kits! 👍
Thanks for these build videos, I watch 'em all, but I am sure you got a great result at the end of it. 🙂

Very cool Jerry! And yes, you can't beat the price!
I just received the Palamos and the HMS Beagle from OcCre. I thought I'd start off with the Palamos as it's a beginner build and these will be my first wooden model builds. I may have to look this one up as well and start with it and follow along with your build! 🙂

Howdy, just got this kit for christmas. I have started to work on it. First model I have built in 22 years. 1:100 halco ocean ship. No engish on the single page of instructions. Were can I go to get more info for building it? Do you know what the name of the real ship was called? I don't find anything for a sailing ship named Halco. Were did you find the extra parts, like canons? Also, did you find a rigging guide?

Its halcon schooner 1840..its hard to find these kind of model who are building of this..some are from scratch building it on their way..cant find this model on any ship model kit brand..i think this one are from china..not so very detailed..enjoy sir..
