If a date is given from either January or February of a leap year subtract 1 from the final value, then the same method works.

Thank you. In my view, this formula works except leap year. For leap year, we need to subtract -1 for those date falls on JAN, FEB and again subtract -1 no need for any date falls after FEB in a leap year. Please check and confirm.
Example:
1)15-02-1968, reminder = 6-1= 5 = Thursday
2)11-09-1968, reminder= 4 = Wednesday. Here subtract -1 no need as date falls after Feb.
I tried to checkout day for the below, results arrived were wrong:
23-01-1756 - as per formula result is Saturday, but right answer is Friday. Don't why, please clarify.

I like your way of teaching.For leap year code of Jan, Apr and July are same.Feb and Aug code is same.Simple way is subtract 1 from the total and divide by 7 for Jan, Feb of a leap year.

this formula does not work for the first 2 months of a leap year, where the fifth value has to be taken for the previous year, for eg: the day of 15/1/1976 and 15/2/1976 is thursday and sunday, but if calculated by the formula given by you it works out to be the succeding day, i.e. friday and monday, which could be a mismatch, resulting in a wrong answer. i have calculated for all leap years between 1900 to 2020 and the result is the same

I believe if the year is the leap year i.e. remainder(year / 4) = 0 then 1 would be subtracted from the final value...otherwise it works fine..thanks..!!

What about years such 2002, 1903, where the last two digits are not divisible by 4? Please help me in this problem

You are welcome sir.In Gregorian calendar century years are leap year when it is divisible by 400 only.

Thanks for the simple calculation Sir.
But for calculating the same for feb month of leap year, we should subtract the final remainder by 1.
