I like how heartwarming Gorefield is in this. He's a monster, but he's a good guy, well at least he's good for a monster.

For anyone wondering, Odie's previous owner is called "Lyman" and hes Johns' friend canonically

Notice how when the gun hits the floor inside the hole that you can see a old helmet, bow and arrows, etc. Basically implying he's been doing this for generations.

This gorefield version is amazing. If shows that gorefield isn’t completely a monster, he’s a monster for the good, there to punish all that sin.

I really love this interpretation of Gorefield! While yes his actions to the burglars from the last one and Odie's previous owner are cruel and gruesome, but in both in these cases he was trying to protect John and Odie, and he appears to show that he truly cares about John and Odie, heck he might even see them as his family. In most interpretations of him, he shows no love for Odie or John, only seeing them as his toys that he could throw away when he gets bored, so It's really refreshing to see something a more loving side of him! Now he could just be planing to kill them both himself, buut who knows!🤷‍♀️
