Feels very similar to the Tyrone Lue hire. Good luck to the coach, I just hope the Lakers back him and he takes on the responsibility of not just trying to come up with X's and O's but inspiring and challenging players like AD, Horton-Tucker, Russ. I believe that's the biggest job description of a coach in a star driven team like the Lakers. I 1000% believe that if they are challenged to be more professional, as in stay in shape and work on their game for the purpose of benefiting their team, it will result in more wins and higher comradery within the team. I as Lakers fan, don't really believe in AD as a franchise player, but I believe we are talented enough to at least be a 3rd seed kind of team. If Russ is on the team, then he HAS TO address his role on the team. No spoonfeeding the guy's ego and backing him when he is becoming a hindrance to the team any longer. He has big and grueling task at hand, hope he has the shoulders to carry all that on his back.

A new coach changes nothing... Frank Vogel (defensive coach) won a championship with the Lakers, they then trade away his best defenders, replace those young defenders with older guys that aren't known for defense and then you're surprised that they struggle defensively? Seems to me the issue is the GM. Now whether thats LeGM or Pelinka... who knows.
