I'm a 3rd Dan. When I was practicing regularly, the one member of my club I had to be careful with in randori was a guy who really knew his foot sweeps. You couldn't give them too much movement or be even slightly off balance cos he'd nail you with an ashiwaza. I was forever grateful to him because he pretty much "immunised" me against getting caught with any ankle sweeps. Mr John Pinckney, thank you.

That is what happens when you let three of the same steps happen in succession... As for the three successive attacks with the same technique - this is also a valid tactic of leading uke to expect an attack that they can survive, before the final, faster and better timed one comes in to finish them. It also allows Tori to suss out whether uke has any tricks in response to the technique without actually committing to a full out initial attack.

Well he did follow 4 laterall steps in a row, he shouldve known not to follow that many times. That was textbook tho, clean.

Also, he dropped to a knee from a foot sweep....must not have had his lower have strengthened by fellow club members that were good at foot sweeps.
Not saying a good foot sweep artist can't do magic.
