I turned 50 yrs old today while in Covid-19 quarantine with the world. I was was feeling blue ( staying in bed, sleeping the day away, hardly eating ) all week leading up to today, but after listening to the amazing Valentina Lisitsa play, I feel I can make it through this birthday. Now it's time to listen to another favorite that will help me through the day; the brilliant Mr. Chilly Gonzalez. The combination of the two is a 1, 2 slap in my face to wake the hell up.

Incommensurabile a certa gentaglia delle ultime generazioni che si presenta sulla scena mondiale convinta di possedere l'infallibilità. Ecco un'Artista infallibile, infallibile nello scoprire la parte più intima dell'opera d'arte. Non paragonate Valentina Lisitsa a nessuno dei supposti grandi pianisti presenti oggi sulla scena.

It's not just the speed, and there's no doubt she's a great pianist, and a lovely person ! But go and listen to Barenboim playing the same sonata, as an example !! it's on for me, another level, of artistry and musicianship !! This is a rattled through technical exercise in comparison . with not enough attention given to the finer details of what the actual melody or tune is, and what's the accompaniment !

What a superb performance of a delightful work, fantastic technique enjoined with a deep love and understanding . I am in absolute awe of your left hand, it was a joy to both see and hear.
