CS:GO Ranking System Changes? #DeRankFest? (Vlog)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has seen an interesting patch that caused massive rank downs across the board for players. It's now much more difficult to rank up in CS:GO. What is going on? How does this change affect me? WarOwl rambles on for a few minutes in this VLOG to attempt an explanation.

After reading these comments, I think it's clear some people still didn't understand what I was saying, so let's try this again one more time simply in the text: The ranking system is completely unchanged, the only thing that has changed is your visible skill group, such as 'Distinguished Master Guardian'. The game itself is unchanged, your experience is the same. The rank you see does not matter at all. They made the change to even out the distribution curve, since it was as top heavy as my date last night. Wow that joke was terrible... Anyway, quit whining about your rank for crying out loud... I will probably derank to Legendary Eagle Master or something, it's not bad thing.

I wouldn't mind seeing the ELO; I won 15 games in a row and lost 1 and deranked instantly. People need some explanation on how there progressing.

I played the ranking match, won it with topscore.
I got MG2.

I had 3 wins as Legendary Eagle and I got demoted to Master Guardian Elite after only 1 loss. Wut?

This just raises the skill ceiling needed to reach Global. I didn't have the game before the derankfest, but I'm sure there were much more globals, now the ones that are truly the best are globals.

The loops are for rolling up your sleeves. I believe you are supposed to put the button from the cuff thru the loop. It is to help keep the sleeve from unrolling.

I wish valve would just let us see our elo rank/score and let us see how close we are to ranking I hate silver there's usually one other person on my team who has a mic so it's usually just me and some 5 year old screaming at me for not picking up a awp the whole games

The ranking changes are the best thing to happen to CS:GO in 2015. You guys don't understand one thing. For the last few months the average player was DMG or something similar. Now the average player is around novas. You used to play in DMG and now you say you play against golds. In reality you play versus the same people that were DMG with you and have now deranked just like you. When you were DMG you were just AVERAGE. Now you are GN3 and you are still AVERAGE. I don't see the big deal with the rank unless you are just a kid and cry about everything.

you know what I hate about this update is because for players like me who carry their team 4 out of 5 games with at least 25 frags per game lose my rank just because my other teammates cannot keep up or out aim the enemy well I guess that's Asia matchmaking for you

I don't care about my rank. I care about what PLAYERS are usually playing on that rank... I was GN3, then ranked down to Silver 4! Kill me, please! There are complete IDIOTS playing on my team - no mics, no info, terrible aim, terrible EVERYTHING. In Gold Nova I had a chance to win a game, because my teammates were not as stupid, but now it's impossible to go back, because "Silver Hell" took me.
